Who wins this matchup and why? Come and find out.
Injuries to Reggie Bush and Deuce McAllister thrust Thomas into duty last season, and he starred in his feature role. Starting in week 11 when Thomas basically took over as the “featured” back, he finished as a top 5 RB over that final 6 week span.
Bush missed the final 6 games of the 2008 season with a knee injury which led to him finishing outside of the top 30 RBs overall. Even to that point, Bush was not lighting the world on fire as he was averaging under 4 YPC and only had 2 rushing TDs. So there are will be questions regarding Bush’s health entering the 2009 season, but he should be healthy enough to see significant time in training camp.
If you draft him, hope and pray that that is how it works for Colston in the 2009 NFL season but I would still make sure you have a handcuff for him since the Saints OFF will still put up big numbers with Colston on the sideline with an injury.
