We are not going to bore you with a bunch of dribble before we start we are going to get right into it here. David will be taking the Colts and Mike will be taking the Saints, enjoy and please make sure to comment.

David: We’re talking about Peyton Manning here, the most talented QB in recent history still with only one Super Bowl championship under his belt. He’s here again, and if there is no way he is going to let this type of opportunity slip through his fingers. The 1972 Miami Dolphins are the only team to go undefeated in a single season. Although it would have been a storybook ending to go 19-0, capping it off in Miami of all places. The Colts have set their goals on this Super Bowl, not being a part of NFL immortality.

Mike: Lets not involve the Miami Dolphins here because we all know how the Chokes ended the season giving the players rest. Why in the world you lay down to the Jets and the Bills is beyond me. Finish the season strong and on a good note, not on a loosing streak. I am not going to bore you with stats from 1972 but will amaze you with the truth. The Saints can score with any team in the league and you can look that up and tell me if I am wrong so this game is not going to come down to who can score the most. This game is going to come down to who makes the best plays on defense. The team that returns a kick, punt or int in this game is going to hoist the trophy Sunday night.

DAVID: I didn’t agree with the Colts’ organizational decision to rest their starters at the time, look where it got them, straight to the Super Bowl.  They got the Jets in the AFC Championship game, I’m sure the Colts’ would have signed up for that matchup Week 16 if you were to ask them then.  The Saints may have a better return game, but you have to tip the advantage to the Colts in a game-winning kick scenario.  Garret Hartley may have a big leg, but he’s still just a rookie and has shanked his share of kicks already.  And if it comes down to defense, I’d give the advantage to the Colts.  The Saints rely too heavily on causing turnovers, and give up a ton of yards.  While they might get 1 pick on Manning, its not going to be in the big spot.

MIKE: David let’s look at it this way, this score board could have numbers totaling the largest lottery drawing ever recorded I am mighty certain the 2nd year pro Garret “I am a Kicker and used Steroids” Hartley will not be a huge factor. If the kid does not miss chip shots then there will not be a problem. The Colts defense has not seen an offense like the Saints if you look through their schedule they had a mighty cake walk of a schedule. The only team they played that they held down was the Cardinals the rest of the games the defense for the Colts was just above average. So your saying that because they rely on turnovers they are not going to win? They have been doing this all season and have pretty damn good success.

David: This isn’t going to be a game of shutting down offenses, “you can only hope to contain them.”  A good way of doing that is causing the fumble, which helped the Saints get to the Super Bowl. Drew Brees lost more fumbles this season (6) than the entire Colts’ team (5.) His receivers equally have a tough time holding on to it after reception (7.) When it comes to skill players, Wayne and Clark are more talented than any of the receivers the Saints can line up, you might throw Garcon or Collie into the discussion as well.  Just because the AFC is built around defense more than the NFC this season doesn’t mean the Colts had a cakewalk to the Super Bowl.  The Colts simply won every game they set out to win, and Sunday should be no different.

Mike: I would put Colston in the same category as Wayne but I agree with you on Clark but the Saints have Bush, Thomas, Shockey, and many other weapons on there side of the ball that counters the Colts offense. This is going to be a high scoring game and the team that scores last will probably be your winner.
