I know we touched on this a bit before when it was announced but what advantages/disadvantages to you see in the draft only being 1 round on Thursday?
I think it will allow all the teams to reevaluate some things and could lead to more deals on Friday and Saturday. I am not so sure it will initially help teams like the Rams and Lions who draft early in the second round, but I think it does help teams picking further down in the second to create a solid game plan.
I do think as well, traditionally "poor" drafting teams will benefit from the extra time of the draft being spread out over three days.
I do, I like 3 card poker at Motor City, love playing that game and usually come out ahead.
Friday I'm going to the guy who runs the local Browns Bakers group in Ann Arbor house he's having a Texas Holdem Tournament with a $50 buy in.
Thursday we're going to Bailey's in Livonia (I think it's considered Livonia) that's where we meet every Sunday for the games when we're not at the game lol.
I have gotten more into playing at some of the "charity" poker places around the Flint area recently, but don't have much time to go other than maybe once a month or so. All hold em high limit, thats what I play normally stick with the $1-$2 blinds, min buy $50, max buy in $200. Heading down to the D is about an hour drive so I don't make it to the casinos but would like to sometime. Still try to have a $20-$50 buy in at my house with some local buddies once every two months or so, but its tough with everyone have kids and working too.
Good luck Friday night man, that sounds fun. And when you include the NFL draft, even better.
yea Im always close to Detroit, Im typing this on 8 mile and Meyers rite now lol so going to the casino is a common thing for me and my friends, we use to get together and play as well but like you life started getting in the way
The NFL draft will have less star power without Tim Tebow in attendance.
Tebow spurned repeated invitations from the NFL to attend Thursday night’s selection process at Radio City Music Hall. The storied University ofFlorida quarterback will instead watch the proceedings with loved ones in his hometown of Jacksonville, Fla.
“It was exciting to think about walking up (on stage), shaking the commissioner’s hand and holding up my jersey (of the team that drafted him),” Tebow told FOXSports.com on Wednesday. “That would have been the coolest thing. It made my decision that much harder.
“But I thought it was best to be home with my friends and family. It’s not just an award for me being drafted. It’s for all the people who invested in me during my life. I want to be able to celebrate with those people.”

yea they don't do that in round 4![]()
So that was an interesting 1st round I would say.
Just some of my favorite moments.
- The first 6 or 7 picks were no shock to me really
- but the Jacksonville pick was
- as well as the Tebow selection.
- Denver made enough trades for the entire NFL though so that was quite interesting.
- Pouncey's girlfriend will be the Steelers next guard or Bens next fling.
- ESPN table was pathetic, Tom Jackson looked like he wanted to go smoke some more of whatever he smoked before he arrived
- Chris Berman swinging his arms at times trying to kill the camera was priceless
- Listening in on Eric Berry's conversation another brilliant move
- John Gruden saying "Dumb Ass's" live on the air
- Mel Kiper getting pissed about Claussen not getting drafted.

Dez Bryant falling to the Cowboys made me sick...a lot of teams are going to be sorry...this is Randy Moss all over again.
