Thread: Mock Draft V1 - Forum - Discussion

First post updated sorry I forgot about Davis.

The Dallas Cowboys Select - Patrick Robinson DB Florida State

I am not sold on what they have on the outside and I think Robinson will be able to step right in and start. I really wish Earl THomas would have slid though because with the rest of the Safety crop I think picking one here would be a reach.
Anyone want to start another league next year? PM Me if interested.

28th Pick: The San Diego Chargers select Jonathan Dwyer, RB, Georgia Tech

Norv needs to draft a replacement for LT. In Dwyer the Chargers get a workhorse running back, who has the ability to carry the load at the next level. He and Sproles should compliment each other well.

    29 New York Jets Select:
    Brandon Spikes LB Florida

A tenacious competitor and proven leader who has fallen this far in the draft? In the real draft this would be the only option that Rex Ryan would see as realistic. You gotta take the DEF playmaker and help add OFF weapons with later picks. I see the Jets looking to add weapons on the offensive side of the ball more than on the defensive side but that is need based.

When the timer is running and they see this type of DEF value still on the board, they will give Rex more weapons for his DEF and that spells trouble for opposing offenses, remember how tough the Jets DEF was in 2009? Add Spikes and another year of experience and you start looking more and more like Rex's old DEF in Baltimore during Ray Lewis' prime.

With the 30th pick in the NFL Draft the Vikings select:

Dan Williams | DT | Tennessee

What could be better than to continue the Williams' Wall in Minnesota? Dan Williams is a player many have not heard of. He is a sure first rounder. Willimas is a beast who will be a steal in the late first round. At the senior bowl he was frequently double teamed and could not be moved.

With the 31st pick the Indianapolis Colts select:

    Jared Odrick, DT Penn St.

Odrick had a very good senior bowl in which he solidified himself as a solid 1st round talent. He was the Big Ten defensive player of the year and at 6'5" 300 lbs. he commands attention in the middle that could give Freeney and Mathis some room on the outside. He also is a good inside rush defender with the ability to stop plays in the backfield. I think the Colts would consider an OT here as well like Charles Brown, but if the Colts can continue to stop the run they can force teams to deped on their passing game giving their pass rushers opportunties to make plays.

I am with you JC on Williams, I think he will be a legit NFL starter and a real good pick really anywhere in the mid to late first round.

Any of you guys willing to make the Saints pick for Mike? He is a bit busy with the MDMD draft which is looking to go 7 rounds. If you will, just go ahead and post the pick for him and I will be posting the last 11 picks of this mock on the blog tomorrow (Sun 2-21-10)

With the last pick in the 1st round the New Orleans Saints select:

    Maurkice Pouncey, C, Florida

Arguably the most complete center to come out in the past few years. A three year starter for the Gators. Pouncey is fantastic all-around blocker, who has the goods to develop into one of the best at the position.
