Unless Bradford goes off the charts at the combine, they go Suh here. And then start things the right way getting OL and DL help(Long and Smith already) to build a franchise. I am not sure anyone would be willing to through the picks the Rams way to move up into that #1 spot even as good as it appears Suh will be.

I just do not see it happening on a trade up I am not sure why anyone would want to pay that #1 pick that much money not knowing if he will be worth it. But then again I dont have millions of dollars laying around either like some owners.

So we have narrowed it down to DL, OL, and QB is there anything else this team needs? I guess you could say WR....

WR is definitely a position of need and I think if the talent was there I could see them taking a WR in the 2nd round. But is there anything in the draft that will be available in the 2nd that can be a difference maker. That is the WR they need, from what I am hearing there is only one of these in the draft that is a certainty and he wont be there at 2.01. They have a stash of good WR2-4 types (Robinson, Avery, Gibson, Burton, Amendola, Martin, Foster, Kent).

WLB is another glaring weakness also.

I doubt they take an OL early they look to only have a need at G (Incognito's late season release) and with all of their other needs I doubt they take a G early in the draft. OL was inconsistent this year but at times showed some steadiness especially when Smith was healthy. Brown at C was good, Bell has been a problem but these big signing FA need to be better especially Bell and from what I hear has played through injuries the last 2 years so maybe that is an excuse. Barron isnt worth big money but is steady so I think they sign him as a RFA if it is an uncapped year. I am hoping Smith is fit (concussion) and has a big pre season so that he moves to LT and Barron to RT but that is a big if.

I will be interested to see how Colt McCoy goes. If he does well at the combine I think rams will have a hard look at him at 2.01. Bradford, Clausen should go 1st round and Tebow is to much of a risk at this point for the Rams. If McCoy is not well... the real McCoy I think they settle for Pike or the other QB Le... whatever his name is. I hope it is Vick starting, Null at 2 and a rookie at 3. As they say though be careful what you wish for. I am just against starting Bulger again. Vick can also help mask a OL that is still trying to find its feet and is short of depth. I know the rams are high on Null and if they can secure a Vick or Campbell type I could definitely see them not taking a QB if one doesnt fall to where they want them. I dont know if I agree with them on this, but the needs are many.

  4. Rams MDMD Rams Select Pick no.1

With the First Pick in the 2010 NFL Mock Draft

The St. Louis Rams / NFL Draft Geek Select: Ndamukong Suh

    6'-04" - 305 lbs - Defensive Tackle - Nebraska Cornhuskers

The Rams are in dire need of a franchise Quarterback and Jake Locker very likely would have been the pick here had he not decided to return for his senior season, with that said neither Jimmy Clausen, or Sam Bradford are good enough to justify passing on Ndamukong Suh, without a doubt the best player in the draft, and the best player on defense to come out since Charles Woodson. He is a can't miss prospect that will immediately make a difference on their defense and will give some much needed help to former top-5 pick Chris Long. For all 3 of you who have not watched him play, he is a dominant force up the middle, who demands a double team, gets a push up the middle, and can also rush the passer, he excels at everything you want from a DT. Steve Spanuolo is a defensive minded coach who strongly believes in building up the D-Line so unless they absolutely fall in love with one of the QB's he has got to be the pick.

Can we reply in this thread? If not please move it mike.

Rep sent mike, this is a great idea.

I agree that Spags will likely go with the DEF playmaker even though many are starting to like a QB, especially a healed Sam Bradford.

    Great Job NFL Draft Geek

I heard a rumour that the rams and bucs would swap picks and Tampa will send Josh Johnson and their third to the Rams. I dont see the upside to this trade for the rams. Miss out on the 2 stand out players McCoy and Suh and then what do they do at 3 take another QB at 3 after trading for Johnson.

Suh has not stood out at the combine as much as people thought he would and there is growing sentiment that McCoy should be the number 1 pick. Bradford support is growing and from what I am reading I think the rams take Bradford either with the 1 or trade back if possible.

I heard the complete opposite about Suh and McCoy. Suh ran a faster 40 time and did something like 12 more reps on the bench press. Not sure where you heard McCoy was doing better but its not true.
