The father of University of Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford announced on Tuesday that his son has hired agent Tom Condon to represent him in team contract negotiations following the 2009 NFL Draft.

Not only will the Detroit Lions be in attendance when quarterback Matthew Stafford holds his pro day workout at Georgia, but Stafford will also be asked to perform a private workout just for the Lions. In addition, the Lions will also hold an extended interview session with Stafford -- above and beyond what is covered at the combine. Similar diligence will be extended to USC's Mark Sanchez and Kansas State's Josh Freeman.

I cant wait for Stafford to get to the NFL and play like he can so you and HT can pillow talk to each other about how wrong you both were about him after never really seeing him play. I watched him play, every game, for 3 years in the SEC...He has talent and the intangibles to be a top QB although that is never a sure thing, other than maybe Peyton Manning but even he was doubted by prognosticators prior to the draft..

We know your boyfriend is off limits thats why we can not sweet talk him. Showing up when you are supposed to in your senior season usually makes others look down on you. This guy could be the Tim Couch or Ryan leaf of this draft.

The Jets reached out to Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford on Wednesday, and have scheduled a workout shortly before the draft.

"Well, I've already visited Detroit. I did that earlier on," Stafford in an interview with Sirius NFL Radio. "And now, I actually just got a call this morning. I think I'm going to go see the Jets at some point in mid-April."
